United States veterans, current American military members, first responders and their families will have access to 4,547 World Cup tickets thanks to a $2.25 million donation by Bank of America and Vet Tix.
The donation provides tickets to matches at all 11 American World Cup venues from June 12 to July 19. Tickets also will be available for each level of the 48-nation competition, including the semifinals and finals.
The first semifinal will be July 14 in Arlington, Texas, with the second semifinal July 15 in Atlanta. The championship match will be held July 19 in East Rutherford, N.J.
'We wanted to ensure our military, first responders and their families have the opportunity to celebrate the biggest sporting event in the world during our country's 250th birthday,' Bank of America head of global public policy Larry Di Rita said in a statement. 'We are honored to work with Vet Tix to provide this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to the people who have sacrificed and served our country.'
In a nod to America's 250th birthday, 250 of the donated tickets have been designated for matches involving the United States. The USMNT opens Group D play on June 12 against Paraguay in Los Angeles, then faces Australia on June 19 in Seattle and Turkiye on June 25 in Los Angeles.
The top two teams in each of the 12 groups advance to the knockout stage along with the top eight third-place teams.
Vet Tix will begin distributing tickets this week.
